Description

UM is a storybook like no others on the App Store. The author and illustrator is David J House, an accomplished computer animator.

It's about a little boy who discovers something that allows him to take over the world. Only he finds taking over the world was a little harder than he thought it would be...

How many more "Three Little Pig" or "Little Red Riding Hood" stories can you stand downloading. Get your kids a story with substance, something original for heaven's sake!

This story is NOT your grandma's Little Red Riding Hood. It is an original story by David House. Everyone that has seen it, loves it. It is written on a fourth grade reading level, but probably can be handled by any reading kid with help.

There is narration, that you can easily turn on or off. You can turn on or off the background music.

This is a good story, you have my personal guarantee. It's worth the nominal price.

A little editing, please

:
This app needs some serious proofreading. The rhymes are forced and awkward, and the author often resorts to sloppy syntax to get the sound he/she is looking for. Unfortunately, the rhymes often come at the expense of clarity and comprehension; more than once I found myself re-reading a sentence, trying desperately to figure out just what it was supposed to mean. The punctuation is a mess, too. There's at least one run-on sentence, and though the author claims that the story can be read at a fourth grade level, it reads like it was actually written by a fourth grader.

I'm a high-school English teacher and part-time university professor with a fourth grade son at home. Don't buy this for your kid. I wish I hadn't bought it for mine.
